About WEB

WEB welcomes 6th grade students and makes them feel comfortable throughout the first year of their middle school experience. The WEB program is a national program that is used by many school districts. Built on the belief that students want to and can help other students succeed, the WEB middle school transition program trains members of the 8th grade class to be WEB Leaders. As positive role models, WEB Leaders are motivators, leaders and teachers who guide 6th graders to discover what it takes to be successful in middle school. WEB Leaders visit 6th grade homerooms at least once per month to review various items such as reminders and encouraging student to use binder reminders (school agenda) to discussing the six pillars of character. Students are chosen due to their character, influence and ability to connect with other students. WEB Leaders have an integral role at Griffiths Middle School given that they volunteer their time before and during the school year to provide peer guidance to many students, and most importantly, these students are learning skills that hone in on their leadership abilities.
